Automotive Magnets Manufacturer
GX Magnet supplies ferrite and NdFeB magnets, sensor targets and magnetic subassemblies for automotive actuators and small motors. We match the magnetic compound, pole pattern, polymer and shaft or gear interface to your drawing, operating environment and required magnetic output.
Magnetic Components & Assemblies for Six Automotive Applications
GX Magnet supplies individual magnetic and mechanical components—including ferrite arc magnets, multipole rings, molded magnet components, motor housings and shafts—as well as integrated rotor and actuator assemblies for automotive applications. Components can be supplied separately or assembled to your design, with material, fit, magnetic field and operating conditions matched to the application.
Automotive Door Lock & Steering Sensor Components
- Molded ferrite or NdFeB rings and shaped magnetic targets can provide the field used by door-lock and steering-position sensors. Locating features, overmolds and separate seals can be customized to the assembly.
- Define field direction, sensor air gap and angular reference. Match the target to the sensor IC and validate the signal across temperature and assembly tolerances.
Automotive Headlamp Leveling & Adaptive Lighting
- Injection molded NdFeB rotors with shafts, screw interfaces or molded drive features can be specified for headlamp leveling and adaptive-lighting actuators. The rotor geometry follows the motor and transmission layout.
- Review magnetic output, shaft runout and hot-soak conditions. PPS and polyamide options are evaluated for the required temperature and dimensional stability.
Automotive Electronic Expansion Valves
- Molded NdFeB rotor components support the electric actuator in automotive air-conditioning and heat-pump expansion valves. Bore features, sleeves and locating surfaces can be matched to the valve mechanism.
- Specify whether the rotor contacts refrigerant or oil. Review the magnetic compound, binder and retention method against the actual fluid, temperature and pressure boundary.
Automotive Exhaust, EGR & Electric Coolant Pumps
- Magnet-and-shaft subassemblies can be configured for exhaust and EGR actuators or electric coolant-pump motors. Screw-driven valve motion and continuous rotor motion require different mechanical interfaces.
- For valve actuators, review heat, vibration and retention torque. For coolant pumps, define rotor support, coolant contact and sealing before selecting the material combination.
Automotive Power Window Lift Motors
- Window-lift designs may use motor magnets together with a separate magnetic ring or gear-mounted target for rotation sensing. GX can review molded magnetic components and gear integration around the gearbox layout.
- Specify gear alignment, pole spacing and sensor gap for feedback designs. Anti-pinch performance depends on the complete sensing and control system.
Automotive Power Seat Adjustment Motors
- Motor magnets and gear-integrated magnetic targets can support seat slide, height and recline mechanisms. Select the drive magnet and any position-sensing target separately for the motor and feedback architecture.
- Review gear fit, backlash, magnet retention and repeated reversing loads. Define the sensing target only where the seat design uses magnetic position feedback.
Why Automotive Teams Choose GX Magnet for Magnetic Components & Assemblies
Flexible molding, integrated assemblies and lot-level quality control for automotive magnetic components.
Molding, Quality & Cost Control
GX supports automotive magnetic components from sample approval to repeat production. Vertical molding machines, 100–250T horizontal molding machines and two-station rotary molding systems support insert-molded magnets, shafts, gears and rotor assemblies across different automotive component structures.
- Lot quality control: Incoming, in-process, magnetic and final checks support repeat-order consistency.
- Component integration: Magnets, gears, shafts and housings can be supplied separately or as assemblies.
- Cost optimization: Automotive project experience helps reduce over-specification and secondary operations while meeting approved requirements.
Match the Magnet to the Automotive Assembly
1 Drive Magnet or Sensor Target
For a drive magnet, review the motor circuit and pole arrangement. For a target used with magnetic sensors for automotive applications, specify field direction, sensor position and the operating air gap. Each function needs its own magnetic acceptance criteria.
2 Magnetic Compound & Engineering Polymers
Ferrite and NdFeB compounds are available for molded magnetic parts. PA6, PA12, PPS and other suitable polymers can be evaluated for the magnetic binder or overmold. POM is an option for compatible gear and carrier structures. Select each material for its own function, temperature and fluid exposure.
3 Shaft, Gear & Retention Interfaces
Carbon steel, stainless steel, brass and drawing-specified inserts can be evaluated for shafts and mechanical interfaces. Define runout, gear alignment and retention force or torque. The joining route may use molding, a press fit, mechanical retention or adhesive assembly.

What Affects Magnetic Performance in a Vehicle?
An automotive magnet works within a motor or sensing system. Evaluate the installed component across assembly variation and the actual duty cycle.
Air Gap & Alignment
Sensor spacing, rotor clearance and magnetic-to-mechanical alignment change the field seen by the system. Use the intended measurement position when comparing samples.
Heat & Material Stability
Assess magnetic output together with polymer expansion, moisture uptake and fluid compatibility. Specify continuous temperature, peaks and cycling separately.
Pole Pattern & Retention
Control pole location and magnet retention under vibration or reversing loads. Gear backlash and shaft runout also affect the relationship between motion and sensed position.
From Automotive Drawing to Sample Approval
Send the component drawing with the motor or sensor layout, magnetic target, polymer preferences and operating conditions. GX reviews the magnet, inserts and assembly interfaces together, then agrees the sample scope and measurement method before tooling or sample production.
Inspection & Batch Release
Set acceptance limits for the features that control fit and function: dimensions, polarity, field or flux, and magnet-to-shaft or gear alignment. Agree any retention, environmental and PPAP requirements, together with drawing revision control and lot identification.
Automotive Magnetic Assemblies with Gear & Shaft Interfaces
1 Gear-Integrated Magnetic Targets
A gear can carry a ring, disc or shaped magnet for position sensing in a suitable actuator design. Define the magnetic target relative to the gear datum, then check sensor spacing, angular alignment and retention. Gear material and magnetic material are selected separately for load, wear and field output.
2 Molded Rotors & Shaft Subassemblies
Molded rotors can incorporate shafts, sleeves or drive features for lighting, valve and coolant-pump mechanisms. Confirm the supplied parts and joining method, then validate runout, retention and magnetic output in the customer assembly. These structures can serve several of the six applications above.
