IEC Aluminum Frame

IEC 56–400 reference in ADC12 or 6063-T5; B3/B5/B14/B35 mounting and H7/H8 stator or cover fits by the released drawing.

IEC Cast-Iron Frame

HT200–HT250 reference with integral feet or flange; shaft-height tolerance reviewed at ±0.5 mm for frames 56–132 and ±1.0 mm for 160–400.

NEMA Motor Frame

NEMA 42T–449T reference on request; fabricated-steel or cast route with 0.03–0.10 mm coaxiality/TIR and Ra 0.8–3.2 μm critical surfaces.

Pump / Fan AC Housing

IP23/IP55/IP65 housing-interface targets by project; flange, drain, terminal-box and airflow geometry require complete-motor validation.

What Is an AC Motor Housing?

An AC motor housing or frame supports the stator and end covers, establishes shaft height and mounting geometry, transfers reaction loads and removes heat through the frame and cooling fins. Standard-looking frames can still differ in pilots, feet, flange, terminal-box orientation and machining datums.

GX supplies drawing-defined AC motor housings and confirmed mechanical interfaces. Ceiling-fan, blower, HVAC, pump and other application-specific housings are evaluated from the actual drawing and project requirements rather than presented as standard stock products.

AC Motor Housing Sourcing Questions

Clarify the drawing, interfaces, process route, operating conditions, test boundary and supplied BOM before comparing quotations.

Can GX supply standard IEC motor frames?

GX reviews the requested IEC frame, mounting form and detailed drawing. The page does not mean every IEC size is stocked or that every material and configuration is a standard GX product.

What is the difference between B3, B5 and B35 housings?

B3 is foot mounted, B5 is flange mounted and B35 combines feet and a flange. The drawing must still define pilot, PCD, holes, shaft height and terminal-box orientation.

Should we choose aluminum or cast iron?

Aluminum reduces mass and transfers heat efficiently; cast iron offers stiffness, impact resistance and vibration damping. Geometry, load, environment, quantity and machining determine the final choice.

Can the terminal-box position be changed?

It can be evaluated through casting layout, removable feet, machining or a project-specific box interface. State the required top/side position and cable direction.

How is shaft height controlled?

Shaft height depends on foot datums, end-cover and bearing geometry, stator bore and machining setup. It must be inspected with the released mounting datum rather than inferred from the outer casting.

Can GX claim the complete motor is IP55 or IE3?

No. IP and efficiency ratings belong to the complete assembled and tested motor. GX supplies the housing geometry, material and finish specified for the customer's motor design.

Are fan, blower and HVAC housings standard products?

They are project-evaluated products. Provide the drawing, airflow and mounting package, materials, tolerances, environment and annual demand for feasibility review.

What should be included in an AC housing RFQ?

Provide IEC/NEMA reference, B3/B5/B14/B35 form, 2D/3D files, stator and end-cover interfaces, material, coating, environment, sample quantity and annual demand.
